Accessibility statement for HM Inspectorate of Constabulary in Scotland
We at HM Inspectorate of Constabulary in Scotland (HMICS) are committed to making our website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
Compliance Status
This website partially complies with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 (WCAG) AA standard, with the below exceptions noted under "Non-accessible content".
We want our website (www.hmics.scot) to be accessible and usable for as many people as possible. HMICS commits to an annual review of WLAG Standards to ensure compliance is maintained.
Non-accessible content
We know some parts of this website are not compliant with the accessibility regulations:
- Reports published prior to 23rd September 2024 are not available in an accessible HTML format.
- PDF documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software. The accessibility regulations do not require us to update PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they are not essential to providing our services. Any new documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.
- Images contained within publications do not include alternative text. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content)
Preparation of this accessibility statement
This statement was prepared on 23rd September 2024. This website was built in July-September 2024 and HMICS required the third-party website developer to meet the WCAG AA standard.
This statement was last reviewed on 23rd September 2024.
